It is an odor that is emitted from bacteria in the mouth. Bacteria help break down food particles in the mouth as part of our digestive system. Bad Breath is a result of build up over time. By brushing our teeth after every meal and reducing sugar and protein intake we can control bad breath at its source. Gums and Mints mask the foul odor for a short time and can add to the problem over time. Proper and daily treatment controls bad breath permanently. Allowing you to talk confidently to others without fear of your breath.

Morning Breath is caused by the drying of the salvia in your mouth. Salvia helps control bacteria and food particles in your mouth. Overnight the mouth dries and bacteria grow feeding on the dried dead cells and food particles in your mouth. By doing a quick 2 minute brush in the morning you can freshen your breath.

Mouthwash contains alcohol which dries your mouth allowing bacteria to grow rapidly. If you mush have mouthwash make sure that there is no alcohol listed in the ingredients. It’s usually a little more expensive but well worth the price. Dry mouth leads to many other dental and oral problems. For more concerns or questions contact your dentist.
